Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner distance education requirements:
Licensure:
- Faculty members engaged in the practice of a registered nurse in the Commonwealth are required to hold a current Pennsylvania license. The “practice of professional nursing” is defined in Section 2(1) of the RN Law and 21.1 of the Board’s regulations. Additionally, Sections 21.11 and 21.18 of the Board’s regulations set forth the general functions of a registered nurse and standards of conduct.
- The qualifications for faculty members teaching in CRNP programs located in this Commonwealth are delineated in the Sections 21.367 and 21.373(c)(3)(ii) of the Board’s regulations.
- Students who meet the requirements of Section 21.118(a) of the Board’s regulations are permitted to engage in the specific practice outlined in that provision.
- The qualifications for clinical preceptors in CRNP programs located in this Commonwealth are delineated in Section 21.373(c)(3)(iii).
