No requirements beyond those listed in pre-licensure distance education:
- An out-of-state program can be considered approved in Connecticut provided that it complies with Connecticut curriculum regulations, is approved by the authorized BON in its home state, and the home state maintains similar (or higher) licensure requirements to Connecticut.
- Out-of-state programs conducting clinical experiences in Connecticut must maintain faculty-student rations of 1:10. When preceptors are used, the ratio may be 1:16. Each preceptor may be assigned no more than two (2) students at a time. The preceptor must have a BSN or higher and at least 2 years of experience in their chosen field of nursing.
- Contractual agreements, reviewed annually by both parties, must exist between the educational program and the clinical faculty.
- Faculty providing on-site clinical supervision in Connecticut must have an active license within the state of Connecticut, have earned at least a master's degree, with at least one degree in nursing, and have clinical experience in their teaching area.
