For PN licensure:
For RN licensure:
- Graduate from a RN program that is approved by the Board of Nursing in the home state.
- The program must meet substantially the same basic educational requirements as graduates of Idaho nursing education programs.
- Faculty who teach Idaho nursing students must have the privilege to practice in Idaho as a RN.
- Faculty must have the appropriate BSN/MSN qualifications depending on the program they are providing instruction for.
- When applying for licensure, the applicant will need to provide official transcripts or Affidavit of Graduation documenting graduation that qualifies them to sit for the NCLEX.
- Complete a fingerprint based criminal background check.
For APRN licensure:
- Successful completion of a graduate or post-graduate APRN program which is accredited by a national organization recognized by the Board in that state.
- Current national certification by an organization recognized by the Board for the specified APRN role.
- Faculty who teach Idaho nursing students must have the privilege to practice in Idaho as a RN, but must also have an active APRN license.
- When applying for licensure, the applicant will need to provide official transcripts documenting their graduation with an APRN focus and proof of their APRN specialty certification.
- Complete a fingerprint based criminal background check.
