- APRN requirements
- Hold a current Connecticut registered nurse (RN) license;
- Hold and maintain current certification as a nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, or nurse anesthetist from one of the following national organizations:
- American Nurses Credentialing Center;
- National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties;
- Pediatric Nursing Certification Board;
- American Association of Nurse Anesthetists;
- American Academy of Nurse Practitioners;
- Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation; or
- American Association of Critical-Care Nurses;
- Have successfully completed thirty (30) hours of education in pharmacology for advanced nursing practice;
- Hold a graduate degree in nursing or in a related field recognized for certification as either a nurse practitioner, a clinical nurse specialist, or a nurse anesthetist by one of the foregoing certifying bodies; OR
- On or before December 31, 2004, completed an advanced nurse practitioner program that a national certifying body recognized for certification as a nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, or nurse anesthetist, and at the time of application, holds a current license as an advanced practice registered nurse in another state that requires a master's degree in nursing or a related field for such licensure
