The National Nursing Database

Valuing innovation, integrity and transparency, NCSBN is providing the first-ever comprehensive source of nursing disciplinary statistics for the U.S. and its territories. This data is compiled by NCSBN's database, Nursys, which is an electronic information system where boards of nursing enter both licensure and disciplinary data. All of NCSBN's 59 (RN and PN) member boards share disciplinary data into Nursys. The map depicts data totals from 2012. View maps

Regulatory Decision Pathway (RDP)

The Regulatory Decision Pathway (RDP) was designed at the request of regulatory boards. The RDP is designed to assist boards of nursing in their determination of whether the action of the nurse constituted a violation of the standard of care. Specifically developed for use in the evaluation of cases of nursing practice errors or unprofessional conduct, the RDP uses a paradigm that focuses on analysis of the (1) system and (2) nurse's behavioral choices.
