- Out-of-state programs wishing to conduct clinical experiences in Texas must apply for approval with both the Texas Board of Nursing and either Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board or the Texas Workforce Commission. Evidence of approval from the latter must be obtained before approval can be granted by the Board for the program to conduct clinical learning experiences in Texas.
- The approval process should be initiated with the Board at least four months prior to the anticipated start date of the clinical learning experiences in Texas.
- A written request shall be submitted to the board, including the required fee set forth in 223.1(a)(27), currently $500. Guidelines for the approval process for clinical experiences in Texas can be found here.
- The board may withdraw the approval of any program that fails to maintain the requirements set forth in these guidelines.
