NCLEX Examinations

2014 NCLEX Conference

The 2014 NCLEX Conference will be held September 29, 2014 in Charlotte, NC. Attendees will learn about program updates from the experts that develop and administer the examinations. To register and find additional details, please visit NCSBN Events.

About the NCLEX

To ensure public protection, boards of nursing/regulatory bodies (BONs/RBs) require a candidate for licensure/registration to pass an exam that measures the competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as an entry-level nurse. NCSBN develops two licensure/registration exams, the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN), that are used by BON/RBs* to assist in making licensure/registration decisions.

Taking the NCLEX-PN or the NCLEX-RN is a capstone experience to your studies and so much more. Passing the exam demonstrates your competence so that you can launch your nursing career.

As you prepare to take the NCLEX, you will want to navigate the exam process. You can increase confidence and reduce test anxiety by being fully prepared for the test experience… before, during and after.

*The NCLEX-PN is used for U.S. licensure only.
