    Important Notice: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and measures imposed by the federal, state and local governments, candidate testing has been interrupted. NCSBN is working with Pearson VUE to reopen some test centers and allow for testing in critical healthcare fields to continue to support the high demand due to COVID-19.     Alabama Implements the Nurse Licensure Compact

    On Jan. 1, 2020, Alabama will join 31 other states in implementing the NLC, which allows for RNs and LPN/VNs, whose primary state of residence is in an NLC state, to hold one multistate license, with the authority to practice in person or via telehealth, in both their home state and other NLC states.
