Lifting restrictions on APRNs in North Carolina can help avert a health care crisis in America.
North Carolina's health care is in a state of crisis. The growing shortage of medical providers has pushed our health care resources beyond capacity. Although the entire country feels the weight of this, access to care in North Carolina's rural and underserved communities is especially strained.
Fortunately, there’s a solution to help increase access to care and remove barriers for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). North Carolina's outdated laws prevent APRNs from providing care to those most in need. The time has come for state lawmakers to permanently lift restrictions on APRNs.
