This session will follow-up from the previous presentation to new item types and scoring provide further examples of the new item types used to measure CJ. Additionally, information about the underlying scoring of the different item types will be presented.

During this session, a demonstration will highlight how the NCJMM has been applied to the development of NGN case studies, including new test items that will be used on the NGN

The first NGN session of the morning will provide an overview of the foundational NGN work in measuring clinical judgment (CJ) for entry-level nursing. The findings from the functional and strategic practice analysis will be presented along with the foundational research on CJ that led to the development of the NCJMM.

The NCLEX uses CAT. It relies on modern psychometric theory coupled with modern computer-driven administration to produce a psychometrically sound, standardized exam for measuring the minimal competency required to practice safe, entry-level nursing. This break out session will describe the background and methods behind the NCLEX CAT methodology.

Ever wonder how NCLEX items are developed? This session will explain the processes and steps every NCLEX item goes through before it can be used on the NCLEX. Opportunities for educator involvement will also be highlighted.
