If you're a graduate of an international education program not taught in English or if English is not your native language, you must have passed an English proficiency exam. You must be eligible for or hold an active, unencumbered license and a non-encumbered license would be a license that has no limitations on the full and unrestricted practice of nursing. You must have passed the practical nurse NCLEX, or registered nurse NCLEX examination, or the predecessor exam. You must have submitted to state and federal fingerprint-based criminal background check. You cannot have been convicted, or found guilty, or entered into a [inaudible] disposition of a felony offense.

The NRBs receive a final report of their state’s data, with asterisks by those programs that don’t fully meet certain key evidence- based quality indicators. Armed with the Annual Report data, the NRBs and programs can work together to identify needed improvements before NCLEX® Examination pass rates and other outcomes fall below standards. NCLEX pass rates are lagging indicators, meaning that they don’t begin to fall until other key quality indicators have not been met. Annually, NCSBN will disseminate a report of the aggregate data, which the NRBs can compare to their programs’ data.
