The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta demonstrates a dedication to serving the public interest by improving and innovating licensing policies and processes, thus ensuring ethical, safe, and competent care by their registrants. The College implemented a national regulatory framework that prepares nurse practitioners to provide care throughout a patient's lifespan, across practice settings. Their leadership not only guides effective public policy for nursing in Alberta, but also influences public policy for all health professions. Call to Order President Donna Dorsey called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM on August 2, 2006. G.1. Review of Proposed Bylaw Revisions Action #1 The Board discussed the membership comments regarding the proposed bylaw revisions. The Board moved to propose amending Article III, Section 1.a. by striking the term, “advanced practice” and inserting in Article III, Section 1.c. the term “nursing regulatory” in front of the word “association” and deleting the term “thereof”. These changes would therefore eliminate the proposed revisions to Article III, Section 2. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2006.
