    The first is to educate patients, stakeholders, and lawmakers on who APRNs are, how they're educated and trained, and that they are a choice for patients. The second goal of that campaign is to advocate for the passage of consensus model legislation at the state level. The campaign has several components. The first being a pretty robust media campaign that creates state-specific resources, such as a television commercial, that's playing on cable news networks, online shareable video, social media advertisements, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, as well as audio ads. All of these ads are targeted.

    I have really enjoyed and benefited from the education calls, and understanding some of the different issues; the work on the transition of the new graduates, the most recent research on simulation, conferences and the Journal of Nursing Regulation are great as well. We used the tools and resources such as those around social media and referenced it when developing our own materials.     So let me remind you about the value of others. Nightingale did not learn her nursing in the United Kingdom. She went abroad, and she brought her thoughts back to the U.K. and as a result of having that interaction abroad, she was able to define a new movement, a social movement to really advance nursing. The reason, however, that she was listened to was not because of her nursing, but by her use of statistics.
