    We also ask about faculty credentials as our studies found better outcomes when faculty in RN programs hold graduate degrees and in PN programs BSN degrees. The faculty ratio in clinical and didactic courses does not have a lot of evidence but this is a question that comes up a lot to boards of nursing, so we need more data. Interestingly, Odom-Maryon in 2018, found higher NCLEX pass rates linked to higher student-faculty didactic ratios, which is a bit counterintuitive so we'll see what we find. Our qualitative and Delphi studies and literature support orientation of adjunct faculty, as oftentimes they are clinicians who have no idea of the curriculum or even what the students are learning in their companion clinical course.

    I want to just emphasize a little bit, committee selections. I think this also speaks to member engagement, how pleased we were this year. We saw a groundswell of interest in people serving on committees. And we do have standing committees, of course, NCLEX, Finance, the Leadership Succession Committee. But just to highlight briefly a couple of the important ones coming up, you're going to hear about the Model Act and Rules Committee. And we had a lot of volunteers for that committee, and we're fortunate enough to move forward with an approach that will allow a lot of people to be involved.

The survey respondents were not substantially different from the population as estimated from the number of active licenses reported in the 2003 Nurse Licensee Volume and NCLEX Examination Statistics (NCSBN, 2005). A total of 4,777 surveys were returned and scanned for an adjusted return rate of 24.5%.
