Always mindful of developing new ways to empower its members, NCSBN introduced several new innovative and interactive tools. NCSBN Interactive was created as an online resource for the lifelong learning of nursing regulators. Nursys became publicly accessible and allowed the public to verify licensure information of RNs, LPNs, and VNs. To further advance the leadership potential of NCSBN members, NCSBN established the Institute of Regulatory Excellence Fellowship Program, a four year professional development program designed to enhance the knowledge and leadership of nursing regulators.

The public protection mandate through state licensure is based on a patient-centered model. Patients come first and have a right to know that their health care provider is qualified and practicing safely. Patients also have a right to easily obtain information about a health care provider, including the provider’s disciplinary record. Patients who have had perceived or actual harm should be able to contact the state licensing board where the health care practice occurred. The increased use of telehealth modalities has highlighted the need to ensure consumer protection when care crosses geographic boundaries.

It's not changing just to make nursing look good, it is changing because our patients, and our not just patients, people, families and communities deserve better, whether we are in a pandemic or whether we're out of a pandemic. - I can contribute. - The point I got, the information I got from colleagues, World Health Organization last night, was that there's been information being collected on a global stage as well, just as we've been doing work here, nationally, and that information will become available very soon. So, as soon as we are aware of that publication we'll share that as part of the process.

All responses should be separate and independent of each other. Writing a good distractor is just as important as developing keys. When creating distractors, keep the following in mind. Think about common errors, misconceptions about the topic, or information that is irrelevant to the diagnosis. Avoid responses that may be seen as correct and ensure that distractors are realistic and plausible. When comparing distractors and keys, distractors should be equal in syntax and length to the key or keys.

. - I think it's made me more able to speak up and speak out. - I just appreciate the resources that they provide. - I have had dialogues with other individuals from other states, issues that they've had. - I've learned so much from the committees that I've served on. I've been able to take a lot of that information back to my board and implement a lot of that. - I was just really impressed with the high caliber of people. Just the leadership skills, communication, just amazing people and mentors. - The networking and the connections you make are for a lifetime. - Lead to inspire.
