Many of the resources are also available in French such as the NCLEX Frequently Asked Questions, the RN and PN Test Plans, Exam Preview, the Candidate Bulletin, Candidate Rules, the NCLEX Tutorial, and the NGN Newsletters.     In the NCLEX Exam, we only report the pass-fail classifications because we want to know, yes or no, you are minimally competent to practice. You have five hours to take the exam, and then you have to respond to at least 60 operational items. Please remember the minimal number of operation items will change after April 1st, 2023 when we launch NGN. Once you have answered 60 operational items, your ability estimate is compared to the passing standard. The computer has three different rules to terminate the exam. And once the exam is terminated, the computer makes the pass-fail decision accordingly.

    When we set a standard, we need to keep the mission in our mind. Standards should be revisited when test specifications, scope of practice, education programs, and/or other factors change.
