Not only are vital signs written in a vital signs tab, but vital signs can be written in a nurses' note, progress note, and history and physical. Pulse oximetry readings can be written to include a client on room air, oxygen, or mechanical ventilation. The last tab we have is the laboratory results tab. For current NCLEX items, there are specific laboratory values that the candidate is expected to know. These laboratory values are listed in the test plan. As we continue moving forward towards the next- generation NCLEX, more information will be available to assist candidates in preparing to take the exam.

The candidate finish 60 operational items. The test stops at item 60 because that is the minimum number of operational items on the NCLEX exam. And at that point, the final ability and the confidence interval are well below the passing standard. In this case, the candidate failed the exam.
