    We have a way that we need this to work to maintain security and actually accomplish the goals that we had in mind, expanded access, better experience for everybody. And so we don't have a fixed date that this has to happen by. It's more like we need all these things to go well and check them off and be happy about them before we would ever launch. And we followed that with NGN as well. It turned out that, at some point, we got so close that we were able to telegraph April 2023 to people. But in the same way, if things happened that slowed it down or disrupted it, COVID certainly could have, we weren't glued to that launch date.

    There is partial credit scoring for items for which more than one key exists. There will be three methods for scoring items for partial credit: plus/minus, zero/one and rationale scoring. The NCLEX is designed to test knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry level. Both the NCLEX-RN® and the NCLEX-PN®* are a variable-length, computerized, adaptive tests. The NCLEX is not offered in paper- and-pencil or oral examination formats.

    Identifying the Gaps of Clinical Education: 1. The Need to Reinvent Clinical Education Clinical education remains a learning environment requiring urgent reformation. Integra- tion of clinical judgment into the NCLEX® exam through the development of the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) prompted nursing programs to redesign nursing curriculum and teaching/learning strategies using clinical judgment models (Jessee et al., 2023; Nielsen et al., 2023). Minimal progress has been made in clinical education (Gonzalez & Nielsen, 2024).
