    Not only are vital signs written in a vital signs tab, but vital signs can be written in a nurses' note, progress note, and history and physical. Pulse oximetry readings can be written to include a client on room air, oxygen, or mechanical ventilation. The last tab we have is the laboratory results tab. For current NCLEX items, there are specific laboratory values that the candidate is expected to know. These laboratory values are listed in the test plan. As we continue moving forward towards the next- generation NCLEX, more information will be available to assist candidates in preparing to take the exam.

    It is related to the mission of organization and examinations. For us, the mission is for public protection. So, that's why, when we set a standard, we need to keep that mission in our mind. What standard going to help you protect the public? And the standard should be revisited when the test specifications, scope of practice, education programs, and other factors change.
