So, we do credential organizations that do interprofessional continuing education. And those organizations have to do 25% of their CE interprofessionally but they can also do 75% single profession under one accreditation. So, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy started that, we've now added four more professions, optometrist, social work, psychology, and the PAs. So, if you're jointly accredited, you can offer seven different types of CE credit under one accreditation. BON approval of nursing education programs. The committee will have its first meeting Dec. 14–15, 2010. An update on this work will be reported in the Spring 2011 issue of Leader to Leader. Many problems are being reported to BONs related to nurses using social networking sites to post information about their patients, thus invading patient privacy. Therefore, the BOD has charged the Disciplinary Resources Committee with developing guidelines related to social networking. The committee has reviewed related literature and guidelines in other fields and will develop draft guidelines at their next meeting.

For the writ- ing sample, the panelists were instructed to identify from a set of exemplar writing samples, the writing sample that reflects what the SMCC would be capa- ble of producing. RESULTS Panel Recommendations Before the quantitative results are summarized, it is important to note that the social dynamics among the participants and between the staff and partici- pants was one of collaboration. It appeared that no panelist was reticent to provide their opinion and no individual or small subgroup dominated the discus- sions. It appeared that the results provided by the panel represent the panelists’ true opinions regard- ing the minimum English proficiency required to practice nursing at the entry-level.

In terms of delivering the exam, several fundamental changes needed to be made. By revisiting metrics, the removal of development items on the suspension of research, we were able to shorten the exam. We did this while providing an equally robust, reliable, valid, and legally defensible exam. Additionally, the challenges of social distancing were problematic, but by working together, solutions were found. As time went on, new approaches to conducting discipline hearings have had to be found. At first, the low hanging fruit of uncontested events were introduced. However, as weeks turned to months, more radical changes were needed and policies and procedures to support virtual events have been developed, assessed, and implemented.

APRN Consensus Model Information on the consequences of state restrictions on APRN practice is critical to getting legislation related to the APRN Consensus Model passed and subsequently allowing states to be eligible to pass the APRN Compact. Data is needed on the social and economic impact of removing barriers to full practice for APRNs. While confirmation of the high quality of care and positive patient outcomes attributed to APRNs continues to grow, additional evidence can reinforce the safety and benefits of full practice authority for APRNs.
