In September 2021, Nurse AD prescribed hydroxychloroquine to multiple patients for off-label use to treat COVID-19. The WI Board of Nursing issued an administrative warning to Nurse AD stating that in June 2020, the FDA revoked their emergency use authorization which had previously authorized hydroxychloroquine for emergency treatment of COVID-19, and in April 2021, the World Health Organization issued a statement advising against treating COVID-19 with hydroxychloroquine.
