These are two important concepts that go a long way in understanding the paperless environment, as defined below - What is a work queue? A work queue in simple terms is a mechanism to segment the incoming tasks (i.e. license applications, Name change requests, complaints, etc.) for board staff in the office. For example, the Board may choose to create different work queues for RN, LPN, APRN license applications, furthermore there could be separate work queues for initial licensure by exam or initial licensure by endorsement applications etc. Board staff may have their own work queue (My Work Queue) and could pick up applications from that queue to process.

Now, you can complete the remaining sections of the Discipline wizard and click Save. In instances where you are unable to locate both the individual and license, you will need to add the license through the Add Discipline function found in the top Discipline menu. Since member boards upload RN and LPN licensure information as often as daily, the function to edit these licenses is not available. If your board is not APRN participating, your board can edit ARPN license data as it was entered for discipline purposes. These editable details include License, Personal, Address, Education, and Alias details.

NCSBN’s National Nursing Education Database Spotlights Key Quality Indicators of US Nursing Education Programs | NCSBN
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. I think one of the most valuable components of the database is the ability to examine how different types of programs compare to each other by whether the program is private, public or for-profit, and how the credentials and stability of the program’s deans and faculty can potentially impact factors like NCLEX pass rates,” comments NCSBN Nursing Education Policy Director Nancy Spector, PhD, RN, FAAN. NCSBN identified nine measures that impact the quality of nursing programs, including whether the program is accredited, if the program is approved, direct care to clinical experience, director turnover, percentage of full-time facility, faculty and director credentials, graduation rate, number of major organizational changes and how long the program has existed.
