Motions

To prepare a main motion or resolution: 

  1. Complete and submit the online Motions/Resolutions Submission Form.
  2. Your completed form will be emailed to you from resolutions@ncsbn.org along with a link you can use to access and edit your submitted main motion/resolution. 
  3. You and your second will need to meet with the parliamentarian in the Lugano Room to fine tune your main motion/resolution for Resolutions Committee review. Parliamentarian office hours are as follows: 
    1. Wednesday, August 13, 3:00-5:30pm
    2. Thursday, August 14, 2:00-3:00pm  
  4. You and your second will sign and submit your final resolution via online form.  
  5. An electronic version of your motion form will be sent to you and all Resolutions Committee meeting attendees for reference (President, President-elect, Parliamentarian, Legal Counsel, CEO and select staff).
  6. You will be expected to meet with the Resolutions Committee, Thursday, August 14 @ 3:30 central in Montreux I.  
  7. Delegates will vote on main motions and new business during the third session of the Delegate Assembly, Friday, August 15 @ 10:30am central. 

Please note: Per the Standing Rules, only delegates, members of the Board of Directors, and the NCLEX® Examination Committee may present motions or resolutions to the Delegate Assembly.  Resolutions or motions made by the NCLEX® Examination Committee are limited to those to approve test plans pursuant to Article X, Section 1(a) of the bylaws of the National Council.
